Jaad Asante
About
Jaad Asante is a documentarian with a passion for people and their passions; her work often focuses on dancers and other athletes and the rigors of their craft. She is currently an MFA candidate studying at Temple University's Film and Media Arts program. When she isn't making documentaries or dance films, she enjoys working on productions alongside exceptional storytellers. She is currently in production on her thesis film, an observational exploration of a primarily African-American ballet company.
McKayla
Growing up in the Flint, Michigan foster care system McKayla survived a rare form of cancer and lost one of her legs. Doctor’s told her not to expect to be able to run, or ride a bike again. Now at the age of 27 McKayla has come a long way, competing nationally in triathlons and seeking out adventure.
