The Latest: TFI Programming Updates

The COVID-19 pandemic has already had an unprecedented impact on the indie film community. It is an especially challenging time for many freelance filmmakers and creators who have lost income due to canceled or postponed gigs. As our industry weathers this storm, the TFI team is dedicated to continuing our work of providing opportunities and funding for filmmakers. This is a space for us to share ongoing updates on how our programming has been impacted, and what our team is up to through these difficult times.

Virtual TFI Network

We took our flagship program online! TFI Network is typically a three-day program that convenes emerging filmmakers and creators from around the world in New York City to make connections with industry. This year, filmmakers participated in a virtual "prep week" April 21-23, followed by virtual industry meetings the week of April 27th. At the conclusion of the program, several of our partners distributed awards to filmmakers to help them take their projects to the next level. IF/Then Shorts American Midwest Virtual Pitch

We teamed up with Cleveland International Film Festival (CIFF) for this year's IF/Then Shorts Midwest pitch. This year's pitch was originally planned to take place at the Cleveland International Film Festival, but in light of the circumstances, we pivoted to an online pitch. The pitch occurred on April 16th, and the winning team was TO BE RECONCILED. Learn more about the projects in IndieWire.

TFI Emergency Artist Support Fund

We have created a fund to support independent filmmakers who have a lost income due to canceled freelance gigs and events March 15 - April 30th. Donate to the fund here

Gucci Tribeca Documentary Fund

We extended the original deadline to apply for the Gucci Tribeca Documentary Fund to April 30th. Grantees will be announced later this summer.
