Awards for the 2015 Sundance Film Festival were announced tonight and we're very excited by the outcome as three TFI-supported titles were recognized.
The biggest winner was festival favorite The Wolfpack, which took home the U.S. Documentary Grand Jury Prize. Supported through the TFI Documentary Fund, Crystal Moselle's look inside the lives of six brothers who were isolated from society and learned about the outside world from watching and re-enacting movies was one of the more popular titles talked about around Park City for the last ten days. Late last week the film was picked up by Magnolia Pictures.
Marc Silver's Gucci Tribeca Documentary Fund-supported 3 1/2 minutes, which examines the shooting death of black teen Jordan Davis, received Special Jury consideration for social impact in the U.S. Documentary category. The film was bought by HBO earlier today.
And Lyric R. Cabral and David Felix Sutcliffe's documentary (T)ERROR, on the unraveling of an active FBI counterterrorism sting operation, also received a Special Jury prize in the U.S. Doc section for Breakout First Feature. The film is a Tribeca All Access® alum.
Congrats to all!
