Today TFI and the Times Square Advertising Coalition have announced their partnership in showing a work by our Tribeca Film Fellows® during Times Square's "Midnight Moment" in April.
A three-minute excerpt from their film, Local/Express, will show on the more than 40 screening across Times Square each night in April from 11:57pm-midnight. The film explores the universal New York City transit experience told through each of the contributing alumni Film Fellows’ commutes across the city’s five boroughs.
The complete film will be shown during the Our City, My Story screening during the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival on April 24th at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center. The free event is a screening of New York City’s most outstanding student-made films.
The Film Fellows behind Local/Express are: John Bauers, Kevin Fermoselle, Senetchut Floyd, Jonathan Hiraldo, Grace McLeod, Francisco Perez, Graciela Rodriguez, Stefanos Tai and David Woon.
We also announced the 2015 class of Tribeca Film Fellows. They are all listed here.
Fellows will begin gaining real-world film experience and perspective beginning in March and running through the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival with the start of their “Spring Academy’s” curriculum that includes post production facility visits, screenings and director discussions with TFI grantees and time at the Maysles Documentary Center.
The 2015 Tribeca Film Fellows® announced today will be mentored by film leaders, including Bronx Documentary Center founder Danielle Jackson, multimedia artist Dread Scott, whose art has been exhibited at the Whitney Museum of American Art, MoMA PS1, and more, and director Josephine Decker (Butter on the Latch, Thou Wast Mild and Lovely (Berlin 2014)).
