We are so happy to report that the short film Pierced by 2012 Tribeca Film Fellow® Emily Cohn has won Best Drama at the inaugural All American High School Film Festival, which took place this past weekend in Manhattan.
The short looks at the relationship of two friends and how an incident reveals their true colors. Cohn says the story was inspired by two girls at her high school who were not friends and what she thought their relationship would be like if they were.
The All American High School Film Festival is the brainchild of award-winning filmmaker Andrew Jenks. His films have been distributed by HBO and ESPN and his critically acclaimed MTV documentary series, World of Jenks is going into its third season. The festival is an opportunity for young filmmakers to showcase their talent. It received nearly 1,000 submissions for this year's festival from over 40 states as well as Japan, South Korea, South Africa, Canada, United Kingdom, Netherlands and France.
