Check Out NBC's Short Cuts Festival Next Week

You may recall during the Tribeca Film Festival we did about a new initiative our feature programming department is launching called, Professional Partnership, where TFI will be partnering with leading companies in TV, the web, marketing and education to seek ways to translate the talents of our grantees into mediums outside of feature filmmaking.

One of the partners for the initiative, NBC Universal, has been leading the charge in displaying diversity both in front and behind the camera with DiverseCity NBC, and next week they will be presenting in NYC their 8th annual Short Cuts Festival.

This two-day event is dedicated to showcasing the works of writers, directors, actors, TV creators and filmmakers of diverse backgrounds to key decision makers in the NBC Universal family.

And we're happy to see that two of our Tribeca All Access® grantees will be screening their work—Ryan Koo (TAA, 2012) with Amateur, a short film setting up his feature project, Manchild; and J S Mayank (TAA, 2010) with EMIT.

The Short Cuts Festival will be taking place August 20-21 at the School of Visual Arts Theater (33 W. 23rd St) at 7pm. The screenings are FREE but RSVP: diversity@nbcuni.com (seating is first come, first serve)

There will also a free panel on the 20th titled "Breaking Into the Industry" at the School of Visual Arts at 5pm. Again, RSVP: diversity@nbcuni.com
