We’re pleased to announce the films taking part in the Tribeca Youth Screening Series® during the Tribeca Film Festival.

This program is free-of-charge and open to all NYC public middle school and high school groups. Registration is first come, first serve. The films, screening location and times are listed below.

Tuesday, April 24, 12:00pm THE WORLD BEFORE HER

Location: AMC Loews Village 7 (AV7)

Via unprecedented access, The World Before Her contrasts the wide-eyed ambitions of 20 hand-picked contestants determined to win the Miss India pageant, and the behind-the-scenes reality of Hindu fundamentalist camps for young girls that are run by the women’s wing of a militant movement. As a result, the film offers a vivid portrayal of culture clash between beauty pageantry and Hindu religious extremism. Q&A with director after screening.

Future Weather is a character-driven drama about three generations of women navigating responsibility and self-fulfillment. When she's abandoned by her eccentric single mom, Lauduree a 13-yr-old loner, grows fixated on environmental disasters, forcing her and her grandmother to confront each other and the things they can't control.
