January 25th marks the official launch of 2011 TFI New Media Fund recipient 18 Days in Egypt, as well as the one year anniversary of the start of the 2011 Egyptian uprising.
A collaborative documentary project, 18 Days in Egypt aims to capture the events of the revolution in an interactive documentary website that everyone can access now and into the future. The site's already got some great submissions, from Mostafa Sheshtawy and Muhamed Amin ElAtly's piece about running from state security to ?hmed El M?ssry's look at the protestors' use of humor. And don't miss this stream: Tweets From Tahrir 2012.
Find out more at 18daysinegypt.com, and by following them on Twitter at @18DaysInEgypt, where they and a group of reporters have been sending updates from Tahrir Square.
18 Days in Egypt is also on Kickstarter -- check out their campaign to raise $18,000 to hire young Egyptian journalists and students to travel throughout Egypt to collect stories from the last year that will be published on 18daysinEgypt.com.
