Logline

Living in Santiago, best friends Rafaella and Gabriela compromise their relationship when they are faced with challenges of getting Rafaella an illegal abortion.

Alexandra Hyland

Director, Screenwriter

Alexandra Hyland studies Film in Universidad Católica. In 2015, she began working as a script and executive producer assistant in Trebol Film. She also began working on BIRD OF PREY by Nayra Ilic, and as co-writer on ANOTHER LAKE by Francisca Silva. This film went on to obtain prizes in several development laboratories worldwide. She entered Demente Contenido as a writer and exectuvie producer in 2016. Here, she was put in charge of over 10 projects in development; including both feature films and tv shows. Among these projects is the biopic, GABRIELA, based on the the bestselling novel on life of the Chilean poet and Logia. In 2016 she started developing her first feature THOSE GIRLS, a street comedy about two best friends trying to have an abortion. The project participated in this early stage in Ibermedia's Project Development Workshop. At the end of 2016 a teaser trailer was shot with cellphones and premiered during Ventana Sur. In 2017 it participated in a screenwriting workshop in FEMCINE and in SANFIC Lab where it earned the Tribeca Film Institute prize to attend the Industry Market in 2018. Alexandra also participated in the 12th version of Berlinale's Talent Campus in Buenos Aires.

Sebastian González Vildoso

Executive Producer

Sebastian González Vildoso (1987, Iquique, Chile) is the founder and executive producer of MALTRATO Films. Here he develops, produces and distributes features and documentary films by young Chilean talents that are politically aware and with innovative storytelling. He distributed; PASTORA by Ricardo Villarroel. It was named Best Chilean Documentary in the Santiago International Documentary film Festival FIDOCS in 2016. He is also distributed THE DEVIL IS MAGNIFICENT by Nicolas Videla. It was given the Special Jury Award at the premiere in Valdivia International Film Festival 2016, and had its international premiere in the NewFest NYC LGBTQ Film Festival in 2017. He is currently developing the documentary TV LADIES directed by Ricardo Villarroel and Guillermo del Castillo, the feature THOSE GIRLS by Alexandra Hyland, and the short film DESERT STARS by Katherina Harder.
