Afghan and Iraqi military interpreters serve as a crucial bridge between American soldiers and local nationals.  But as a result of their work with the U.S., many have become targets.  In the chaotic aftermath of war, these loyal allies now struggle to find safety for themselves and their families.

Andrés is a journalist, director, and producer in New York. He co-directed GAUCHO DEL NORTE, which aired on public television. He is a 2016 MacArthur Documentary Grant recipient for THE INTERPRETER documentary.

Sofian is a director, cinematographer and founder of Capital K Pictures— a New York-based production company.  He co-directed Gaucho del Norte, about sheepherding in the west, and directed The Dickumentary, a history of the penis.
