Emma Westenberg

Director

Blessed with the gift to visually transform any setting, storyteller artist and filmmaker Emma Westenberg crafts cinematic creations imbued with a happy-go-lucky and whimsical aesthetic. Graduated from the renowned Rietveld Academy and the Cooper Union School of Art in NYC, the director received a special distinction ‘cum laude’ for her short film THE STILL LIFE ESTELLE– which she wrote, directed, produced and art directed. Her first steps that would define Emma as a filmmaker was a diverse set of projects, ranging from commercial work for the likes of ASOS, Dutch Design Week and Vogue to music videos (most recent for Janelle Monae) and short films. Emma is currently working on her first feature film, titled STRANGER'S ARMS, and is successfully juggling projects in fashion, music and fiction. She recently picked up an award at the Milano Fashion Film Festival for her short film BLUE AND YOU.

Claire Read

Producer

Claire Read is a filmmaker based between New York and Los Angeles. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Oberlin College in 2015 as a dual Film Studies and History major. She currently works as an Associate Producer and Field Producer on a documentary series and feature film. Previously, Claire worked as an Associate Producer on VICELAND's women's fashion and culture series, States of Undress, and on VICE Media's documentary news series VICE on HBO. She is also a founding member of a curatorial arts platform called Auto Body, where she spearheads project programming.

Valerie Kamen

Screenwriter

Valerie Kamen is an artist and writer born in 1991 in Commack, NY. She earned a BFA at The Cooper Union with a full-tuition scholarship in 2014. She has written several short films for director Emma Westenberg, including BURNING OCEANS INTO DESERTS, which was featured in Dazed Magazine, and BLUE AND YOU, which won Best New Film at the Milan Fashion Film Festival.
