Salha, a mother gifted with prophetic dreams and visions, lives in an isolated village in Tunisia. When her eldest son’s sudden return from Syria coincides with a series of strange disappearances in their community, Salha’s maternal love is tested and the family faces how guilt can haunt the human spirit.

Producer

Canadian producer and two-time Academy Award nominee Maria Gracia Turgeon co-founded Midi La Nuit with producer/director Annick Blanc in 2015. Since 2015 they’ve produced numerous highly successful short films including Marc-Antoine Lemire's PRE-DRINK (Best Canadian Short TIFF 2017), FAUVE by Jérémy Comte (Oscar nominee, Sundance Special Jury Award 2018, Telluride 2018), THE COLOR OF YOUR LIPS by Annick Blanc (Canadian screen Awards nomination), and BROTHERHOOD by Meryam Joobeur (Oscar nominee, Best Canadian Short TIFF 2018, Sundance 2018). Maria was selected for the 2018 TIFF producer accelerator program and is currently developing several feature films with talented storytellers.

Meryam Joobeur

Director, Screenwriter

Meryam is an Academy Award-nominated Tunisian-American director, based in Montréal, Canada. Her work includes both documentary and fiction. Her short films GODS, WEEDS, AND REVOLUTIONS (2012) and BORN IN THE MAELSTROM (2017), starring Sasha Lane, screened in dozens of national and international festivals. Her academy nominated short film BROTHERHOOD (2018) screened at 150+ festivals and won 74 international prizes. She is a co-owner of Tunisia based production company Instinct Bleu with producer Sarra Ben Hassen.

Sarra Ben Hassen

Producer

Producer Sarra Ben Hassen has over 20 years of experience in the Tunisian film industry as a production manager and script supervisor. After participating in different Producer’s Labs (DFI, Rotterdam, EAVE), Sarra produced the award-winning short BROTHERHOOD by Meryam Joobeur (TIFF, Sundance, Tampere, Carthage, etc). She founded the production company Instinct Bleu in 2018 and is currently developing shorts, documentaries, and features by emerging Tunisian talent.

Nadim Cheikhrouha

Producer

After Graduating from HEC Paris, Franco-Tunisian producer Nadim Cheikhrouha worked in several film companies including TF1 Film Production, TPS Cinema and Mandarin Films (OSS 117 - BRICE DE NICE). He became an associate producer at Screen Runner and Jade Productions where he produced shorts, documentaries and feature films. Nadim then founded Tanit Films where he helped bring to life some of the most acclaimed and important films to come out of the Arab and African world in recent years including HEDI (Dir: Mohamed Ben Attia, winner ‘Best First Feature’ Berlinale 2015), FATIMA (Dir: Philippe Faucon, Winner of 2016 César for ‘Best Film’) and BEAUTY AND THE DOGS (Dir: Kaouther Ben Henia, premiere Cannes 2016 ‘Un Certain Regard’).
