Filmmaker Cecilia Aldarondo’s latest documentary explores the notion of “homecoming” – for anyone who survived high school.
DIRECTOR
Cecilia Aldarondo's feature documentary MEMORIES OF A PENITENT HEART debuted at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival and was broadcast nationally on POV in 2017. She is a 2017 Women at Sundance Fellow and was one of Filmmaker Magazine's ’25 New Faces of Independent Film’ in 2015. Her work has been supported by HBO, A&E Indie Films, the Sundance Institute, IFP, The MacDowell Colony, Jerome Foundation, and New York State Council for the Arts, among others. She is Assistant Professor of Film at Skidmore College.
PRODUCER
Ines Hofmann Kanna has been producing and directing film and television projects for over twenty years. She began her career at Boston’s PBS station, WGBH, where she worked on the hit series Antiques Roadshow. As a freelancer, she filmed in places as close as Iowa and as far as Yemen and Saudi Arabia. She was also a Supervising Producer at ITVS, guiding more than thirty filmmakers from production to broadcast, and acted as Series Producer on two ITVS series. For the past few years, she has been producing films with independent directors, including Sonia Kennebeck’s Emmy-nominated National Bird.
