When Linh, a 42-year-old, Vietnamese American, recently-divorced mom impresses at a “twerkshop”, she is invited to join a 90s-inspired hip-hop dance team: the Fly Girls. A chubby Gen-Xer in a crew of thin Millennials, Linh must overcome her insecurities to prove she belongs.

Angela Chen is an American film and commercial director born and raised in the heart of Texas with family roots in Taiwan and China. Her current narrative feature is the recipient of the Russo Brothers’ AGBO and AFI’s Development Grant. Angela’s films have won numerous awards and premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, SXSW, Austin Film Festival, and more. Her AFI film OUR HOME HERE played at over thirty film festivals and won multiple best narrative short awards.
Screenwriter
Christine Hoang is a Vietnamese American screenwriter, playwright, producer, and performer based in Austin, Texas. She was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. Her screenplays and stage plays are centered on the rich diversity of the American South.
Producer
Summer Xinlei Yang is a film, TV and commercial producer who was born in China. She speaks fluent English, Mandarin, and Cantonese. Summer is a UCLA alumnus who also completed her Master of Fine Arts degree in producing at the prestigious American Film Institute. Summer has extensive experience in film, TV and commercial productions. She also has served as a consultant for the Amazon Studios original series BOSCH, and as well as assisted in feature development at Blumhouse Productions. Her films have won numerous awards and premiered at the A-category film festivals include Shanghai International Film Festival, San Sebastian International Film Festival, Cannes Diversity Showcase, and over 10 Academy Award qualifying festivals.
