Tanisha White

Screenwriter

A native of Sacramento, California, Tanisha White graduated from Occidental College with a BA in Art History and Visual Arts, and studied film directing with Judith Weston and film production at Los Angeles City College. She directed A Swingin’ Fairytale, which premiered at the 2005 Sacramento International Film Festival, and Will Work for Food, which premiered at the 2001 Sacramento Festival of Cinema. Her screenplay “Julia Steele” was a semi-finalist at the Chesterfield Writer’s Project screenwriting competition and the 9th Annual Writer’s Network Screenplay and Fiction Competition. Her feature length screenplay, “A Team Player,” advanced to the quarterfinals of Fade In Magazine’s 2005 screenwriting competition, which she has since redeveloped at the Hanks and Miller Screenwriting program and re-titled “Cougars on Three.” White participated in the 2006 AFI Directing Workshop for Women, and is currently in postproduction with her short film Dance to the Offbeat.
