Director, Screenwriter
C.J. is an award-winning writer/director based in Chicago. The International Screenwriting Association named him one of the Top 25 Screenwriters to Watch in 2019. He won grand prizes at the New York Screenplay Contest and Columbia College Chicago’s Written Image contest. As a video director, C.J. has directed TV spots, as well as branded content enjoyed by millions. His directing work was an Official Selection at the New York Television Film Festival in July 2018 and has been featured at festivals such as Out Webfest and ITVF. His videos have been spotlighted on the front page of Funny or Die. He has also directed video for big brands such as The Second City, Chef Boyardee, and McDonald’s. As the writer of CASE UNSOLVED, he’s been attached since its inception in August 2018. A previous draft of the script for this project won IFP Chicago's and Chicago International Film Festival's The Pitch at Industry Days competition in October 2018.
Producer
Becca Stahl is the co-founder of The Nova Collective (www.thenovacollective.com), a Chicago-based company delivering content around diversity, equity, and inclusion. She’s tuned in to trends around the different approaches to creating cultural shifts and uses her producing skills to work with creators to tell stories that matter. She's produced commercial and branded content for companies such as Microsoft and The Second City, and produced the short horror film TWICEBORN (2015), which was screened at the Festival du Film Merveilleux & Imaginaire, the FilmQuest Festival in Utah, and the Cannes Film Festival's Court Metrage. Becca and (Screenwriter/Director) C.J. Arellano have been collaborating and creating content together since 2014.
Executive Producer
Eugene Sun Park is a filmmaker and producer working in narrative and experimental forms. His films have screened at over 400 festivals, micro-cinemas, museums, galleries, and alternative screening venues around the world, including SXSW, BAMcinemafest, Outfest, Frameline, Chicago International, Cleveland International, Chicago Underground Film Festival, Athens International Film + Video Festival, Antimatter (Victoria, Canada), DC Asian Pacific American Film Festival, and Jornadas de Reapropiación (Mexico City, Mexico). Eugene is also the founder and executive director of Full Spectrum Features, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to diversity in film and media. Current projects include Chicagoland Shorts, an annual touring program of short films that showcases the work of women, LGBTQ, and minority filmmakers; THE YEAR BETWEEN, a feature film produced with support from the Tribeca Film Institute; and RESISTANCE & RESETTLEMENT, a cinematic digital history project about Japanese American WWII incarceration funded by the National Park Service.
