A group of forgotten Palestinian and Israeli mentally ill patients live side by side within an asylum surrounded by a society that lives in a state of conflicting “madness”.
Director
Shirli Michalevicz is a graduate of the School of Visual Arts, with concentration in directing and screenwriting. She has mentored young girls in a Manhattan homeless shelter through Art Start, and has worked with youth at risk as part of the HBO Young Filmmakers Lab. Michalevicz currently leads a cinema therapy group with mental health patients at Kfar Shaul Mental Health Center in Jerusalem, where she is also filming. She is currently working on the feature documentary Borderline.
Producer
Claudia Levin heads Claudius Films, where she produced Paper Dolls, a Berlin Film Festival Panorama Award and a Los Angeles Film Festival Audience Award-winner, and Bil’in My Love, which was recognized with awards at the Jerusalem Film Festival and Rotterdam Film Festival. Her other films include Metamorphoses, The Quest for the Missing Piece, Eight Twenty Eight, and most recently, 6 Floors to Hell, which won the editing award at DocAviv.
