Wild peach groves grow full and lush along the Mississippi River. Tantalizing as they may be, they remain untouched for the people of Natchez know the bloody history of the land that feeds these strange fruit.
Zuri Obi
Director
Zuri Obi is a Haitian-American filmmaker based in New Orleans. In 2018, she won the Juried and Audience awards for Best Experimental Film at Blackstar Film Festival for producing and co-creating Fucked Like A Star, a short documentary. Her work, which centers on women’s lives and the diasporic experience, has screened at several notable festivals and online platforms. Zuri also teaches filmmaking through COOL Cooperative, a non-profit organization that provides New Orleans youth with academic instruction, mentorship and hands-on training in the film industry.
