A JOURNEY OF A THOUSAND MILES: PEACEKEEPERS follows three women in an all female, predominantly Muslim unit of police officers sent to post-earthquake Haiti as UN Peacekeepers for one year. The mission challenges these women while shattering commonly held stereotypes.

Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy is an Academy and Emmy Award winning documentary filmmaker. Her work centers on human rights and women’s issues, including 2012’s “Saving Face”. Sharmeen has made over a dozen multi-award winning films in over 10 countries around the world.

Perri is a distinguished journalist and public health advocate. She most recently co-directed and produced the film "Remembering the Artist: Robert De Niro Senior" for HBO, and the film “The Education of Dee Dee Ricks,” also for HBO.
