About

Wei Ling Chang is an independent film and TV producer/director based in New York.  In 2005, she made her directorial debut with “Ice Diaries”, a TLC documentary series on the journey of four Olympic hopefuls.  She is currently in production directing her third short, ’Til Death, a Hitchcockian film noir thriller based on a feature length screenplay she wrote.

Previously, she consulted for Metropolitan Films (producer of Resident Evil 1 & 2; Brotherhood of the Wolf; True Romance) in Paris.  There, she helped develop, package and cast English language film projects and acted as the in-house writer.  From 1998 to 2001, she worked at Miramax Films in the New York acquisitions department, focusing on acquisitions of finished films and co-productions in Asia and Europe.  In 2002, Wei Ling’s screenplay, The Deep of the Mind, was a semi-finalist of Sundance Writer’s Lab and Chesterfield Writer’s Film Project (sponsored by Paramount Pictures). 

In television, she has produced and/or written for a variety of shows, including the Emmy-nominated “The Port Chicago Mutiny”; “Hope, Charisma, and Controversy: The Bill Clinton Biography”; TV Land’s “TV Moguls of the 80’s”; OLN’s profiles of courageous athletes; “Courage 25”; ABC’s “WifeSwap”; and MTV’s “MADE” and “My Super Sweet Sixteen”.

Wei Ling is a graduate of Cornell University and currently serves as Chair, Events Committee of Producer’s Guild of America East.
