An Obie-Award winning playright/ actor, Roger Geunveur Smith adapted his solo performance of A Huey P. Newton Story into a Peabody Award-winning telefilm directed by his longtime colleague Spike Lee, and produced by Luna Ray Films. Smith was recently nominated for the SAG Award for his ensemble work in Ridley Scott's American Gangster, and stars in Dito Montiel's feature, Fighting. Smith created the character of Francisco Dupre fro Steven Soderbergh's HBO series K Street.
