Nicolas Gonda has over ten years of experience in the film industry, involving every aspect of filmmaking from development to distribution. He began his career while attending New York University, where he worked for Focus Features on the publicity, marketing, and worldwide distribution of numerous Academy Award winning films, including THE PIANIST, LOST IN TRANSLATION, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND, MOTORCYCLE DIARIES, 21 GRAMS and FAR FROM HEAVEN. He most recently completed Terrence Malick’s The New World, inspired by the historic legend of John Smith and Pocahontas.
Lately, Mr. Gonda has worked as Co-Producer for Terrence Malick’s imminent feature THE TREE OF LIFE, starring Brad Pitt and Sean Penn, which is presently in post production. Gonda is a Producer on Mr. Malick’s upcoming IMAX documentary, THE VOYAGE OF TIME, which will involve exceptional cinematography—compiled in over six countries and spanning five continents—coupled with cutting edge visual effects to portray our world as it has never been seen before.
Mr. Gonda is set to collaborate with seasoned producing veteran Sarah Green for several projects with Mr. Malick in the near future. He also serves as Chairman of the Texas-based community development organization, PROJECT COMMUNITY, which seeks to establish multifaceted community centers focused on health care, education, and arts in rural settings.
