Idil Ibrahim has associate producer credits on the documentary Americana (2009 Cinema du Reel International Documentary Film Festival) and Laredo, Texas (2010 Sundance Film Festival). Idil's unique access to the families of the "missing youth" and her personal connection to the Somali Diaspora inspired Displaced, which will be her directorial debut.

When young Somali-American men begin to disappear in the twin cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota, a federal investigation discovers the recruitment of local teens for war efforts in Somalia, leaving their families to deal with the tragic aftermath.
