Hala is an Iraqi-Canadian filmmaker based in Los Angeles. Her fiction film Bêtes Humaines, a multi-genre short set in Montreal’s subway system, was nominated for the prestigious Canadian Gemini Award and premiered at the Newport Beach International Film Festival in 2012.
