Texas native and Brooklyn transplant Darius Clark Monroe graduated with honors from the University of Houston with a B.A. in Communication and Media Production. He was a television production intern fro ABC, and Short Film Coordinator for the 2004 WorldFestHouston International Film Festival. Monroe is currently enrolled at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts Graduate Film Program. At NYU he wrote, produced, and directed his award-winning short film, Testify, which screened at the Cleveland International Film Festival, London Gay and Lesbian Intenational Film Festival, and the Miami Gay and Lesbian Internatioinal Film Festival. Testify was also a PlanetOut Short Film finalist. He wrote, produced, and directed the short film, Midway, starring Albert Hall. Midway was a finalist in the HBO Short FIlm Competition at the 2007 American Black Film Festival, and finalist at the 2007 Angelus Student Film Festival.
