Ben Cotner is the SVP of Acquisitions for Open Road Films, where he currently oversees films in post-production such as Side Effects by Steven Soderbergh, The Host by Andrew Niccol, based on the novel by Stephenie Meyer, Machete Kills by Robert Rodriguez and Ten by David Ayer. Recent releases include End of Watch by David Ayer, Hit and Run by Dax Shepard, The Grey by Joe Carnahan, and Killer Elite by Gary McKendry. Previously, Cotner was the Executive Director of Acquisitions for Paramount Pictures, Paramount Vantage, and Paramount Classics, where he acquired such documentaries as An Inconvenient Truth, American Teen, and Mad Hot Ballroom.
