Baby Ruth Villarama has been involved in co-productions for more than 10 years. She began as a researcher for Philippine broadcast channel ABS-CBN before she ventured in international co-production with networks like MediaCorp, NHK, EuroNews, National Geographic. She’s part of a team that supports Voyage Studios, Film Producers Society and DokyuPeeps, which champion global Filipino stories reach a wider engagement. She is a Chevening scholar of the British government who recently finished her post-graduate degree in Film Marketing and Distribution with commendation, a visiting lecturer at the University of the Philippines Film Institute and the newest member of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts on Cinema. She is the film director behind Sunday Beauty Queen, which premiered in Busan, HotDocs, etc. and has been creating a huge impact on migrant and domestic labour negotiations in different countries.
