Alfredo Nieves Moreno =completed a bachelor's degree in Comparative Literature at the University of Puerto Rico, a Master's Degree in Contemporary Media and Culture from the Sacred Heart University in Puerto RIco, a postgraduate degree in Cultural Policies and Cultural Management from the Autonomous Metropolitan University of Mexico and a doctoral degree in Business Studies from the Antonio de Nebrija University in Spain.
Alfredo is the executive producer of La Pecera (Winner of the Unpublished Screenplay Competition of the 39th New Latin American Film Festival, 2017, and Winner of Tribeca Film Institute Latin America Fund Grant, 2018). He is also the co-president of CANICA, the company that produces the project and in which he leads the executive and strategic aspects.
For 15 years, Alfredo has also worked in professional fields such as strategic communication, marketing and cultural management in Puerto Rico. His credits as associate producer include: Tokío (Official Selection of the International Short Film Festival of Palm Springs 2014 and Cinefiesta 2014) and Amarillo (2012 Micros series of the Puerto Rico Film Corporation). He was also the executive producer of Biopsia (Official Selection of the Icaro International Film Festival and of 21 Islands International Short Fest, Honorable Mention), and of Revuelo en la Roosevelt (a video art piece commissioned by the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture and the National Endowment for the Arts) and of Por el barrio, a documentary commissioned by the Museum of Contemporary Art of Puerto Rico.
