About

Aleta Helena Chappelle is the director of A Harlem Fantasy, a short “3-D” film, depicting an imaginary Cotton Club performance by Paul Robeson.  A Harlem Fantasy premiered as part of the Paul Robeson Gala and aired on PBS.  Chappelle worked as a co-producer at Bad Boy Entertainment as part of a production team which developed a series of feature films.  She has also directed and produced a number of narrative features, including Showtime’s Goosed, starring Jennifer Tilly, Joan Rivers, Antonio Sabato, Jr. and Damon Wayans; Fire; Return of Fire; and An American Treasure, a documentary project featuring Tony Award winning Director/Choreographer/Painter, Geoffrey Holder.

As a Casting Executive for the Fox Network, Chappelle was responsible for scouting talent for future series and for approving and negotiating series regular deals. She has been the Casting Director for both feature films (Material Girls, Drumline, Dorothy Dandgride, Godfather III, Rambling Rose, The Nutty Professor, New York Stories, etc.) and on various television projects.
