Starting out at ITC Movie, Alessandro Carroli specialized in the production of feature films, commercials, and TV for 5 years (projects screened at major festivals Venice, Rome, and Berlin). In 2008, he started collaborating with Kiné and attended Eurodoc, focusing on production and distribution of international documentaries, and in 2012 represented Italy at the MEDIA Emerging Producers program at Jihlava International Doc Festival. In 2013, he was hired by Ballandi Media group, the biggest Italian TV company, as consultant to launch internationally the new branch Ballandi Arts. Alessandro is a member of Eurodoc Network, EDN, Doc/it, APT and is a fellow of the Eave producing program; in 2013 he became director of EIE film, where he has produced many documentaries screened internationally, in festivals, and broadcast, developed with the support of MEDIA, Rai Cinema, international co-pros and broadcasters.
Filmed over six years, AFTER A REVOLUTION is the intimate story of two siblings struggling to rebuild their lives after fighting on opposite sides of the Libyan revolution. As they raise their children amongst the chaos, they witness their country’s explosive course from rebellion to elections to the edge of civil war, and experience at close range the human impact of conflict and international intervention.
